Your biochar from our woods.
Pure Biochar for Growing Resilient Plants in Healthier Soil.
All our biochar comes from our family-run woods in the Devon countryside and supports the regeneration of ancient woodland.
Black is the new green.
Biochar is a stable form of carbon created by pyrolysis (heating wood to a high temperature in a low-oxygen environment). Its highly porous structure helps retain water and nutrients while providing a home for beneficial soil microorganisms. It’s so porous, that (on average), one cm² of biochar has the surface area similar to a tennis court.
When added to soil, biochar can help:
✓ Increase water retention
✓ Support soil biology and the essential mycorrhizal network (the wood-wide-web)
✓ Enhance nutrient availability
✓ Improve soil structure and aeration
✓ Prevent damage from extreme temperatures
✓ Store carbon in the soil for the long term
Biochar is the carbon captured and stored. By putting it back in the Earth as a soil enhancer, you sequester it into the land where it can preserve and benefit Life for hundreds, if not thousands of years.
